Job description:

We are seeking a motivated Member Services Representative to join our team on a part-time basis during the weekends and mornings. Bilingual candidates fluent in both English and Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply. As a vital member of our staff, you will be committed to delivering exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring an outstanding “Judgment Free” experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

• Warmly greet members and guests, providing top-tier customer service to create a welcoming environment.
• Answer phone inquiries in a friendly manner, assisting callers with a range of questions.
• Facilitate member check-ins, conduct facility tours, enroll new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events to members and guests.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage and merchandise transactions using the point of sale system.
• Utilize the POS system for new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Commit to maintaining a clean and organized front desk area and lobby.
• Perform regular facility cleaning tasks, including removing spills, disposing of trash, and cleaning windows and mirrors, in addition to re-racking weights.
• Ensure all exercise equipment and tanning beds are regularly cleaned.
• Conduct routine cleaning and stocking of restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Candidates for this position must complete a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of employment, with continued employment contingent upon a satisfactory outcome.
• Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills with the ability to interact positively and professionally with both members and colleagues, consistently exceeding members’ expectations.
• Previous customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
• An upbeat, positive, and professional demeanor is essential.
• Punctuality and reliability are critical attributes.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within designated company timelines and retain the physical capability to perform CPR/AED in emergency situations.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of walking and standing; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and repetitive hand motions are required.
• Occasionally lift and carry moderate weights (up to 50 pounds).
• Must be able to communicate continuously in person or via phone throughout shifts.
• Ability to maintain physical capability to administer CPR during medical emergencies.
• Vision within normal ranges, with or without correction, is required.
• Hearing ability within normal ranges, with or without correction, is also necessary.
