Job description:

Homestead Health Care is seeking dedicated and experienced Caregivers to deliver compassionate care and manage medication administration for our residents in Shelby Township, MI. The Caregiver will support residents with their daily living activities while providing companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping others, demonstrate strong communication skills, and cultivate meaningful relationships with seniors.

We are currently hiring for First Shift immediately! This position is part-time.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications to residents according to medical charts, ensuring accurate documentation of medication administered.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the living environment, which may involve light housekeeping tasks.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Experience working with elderly populations is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is required.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license or state-issued ID.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with punctuality for every shift.

Pay:
