Catered Creations is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to support our Head Chef in creating exceptional culinary experiences in Grand Rapids, MI. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage, tip share, and a $2/hour shift differential for weekend events.

What You’ll Do:
- Efficiently manage multiple orders, coordinating oven timing, batch cooking, and hot box packing.
- Lead and mentor team members in culinary techniques while embodying professionalism.
- Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and uphold operational efficiency.
- Prepare and execute food flawlessly for service-ready events.
- Maintain accountability for your work while providing assistance to teammates.

Position Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Experience within a high-volume, off-premise catering kitchen.
- Proficiency in large-batch cooking and managing concurrently scheduled event orders.
- Skillful in packaging and transporting food while preserving temperature and presentation.
- Strong aptitude for communication, leadership, and problem-solving.
- ServSafe certification is preferred.
Schedule & Availability:
- Prep shifts typically occur on weekdays, commencing at 7:30 AM until completion of daily tasks.
- Event shifts predominantly take place on Fridays, Saturdays, and select Sundays (generally from noon to 10 PM).
- Flexibility for overtime and adaptability to client-driven scheduling is required.
- Availability on weekends is essential.
Compensation & Perks:
- Competitive base pay ranging from $19 to $23 per hour, commensurate with experience and leadership abilities.
- Tip share opportunities, with an average earning potential of an additional $3 to $5 per hour, subject to event variability.
- A $2/hour weekend shift differential applicable to all Friday, Saturday, and Sunday event shifts.
