Vector’s partner in Medina, OH, a distinguished leader in the manufacturing sector for over a century, is seeking a qualified candidate to join their team as a Plastics Production Technician.

Salary: $18-$25/hr., commensurate with experience
Shifts Available (expected hours/week: 40-50):

  • 2nd Shift: 3 PM – 10 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 10 PM – 6 AM

Job Summary:
The Production Technician is tasked with the hands-on operation and maintenance of PVC extrusion blow molding equipment, playing a crucial role in fulfilling the plastic production needs of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to prescribed start-up, shutdown, and purge procedures while operating and transitioning to new products on the extrusion blow molding production lines.
  • Monitor production runs, making necessary adjustments to optimize resin feed, bottle weights, physical clarity, and overall product quality.
  • Calibrate the bottle trim machine to meet specified finished product standards.
  • Conduct quality checks and accurately input quality data into the production tracking program.
  • Troubleshoot production line and support equipment issues, making adjustments and repairs as necessary.
  • Operate appropriate material handling equipment to transport raw materials, supplies, and finished goods.
  • Comply with established safety guidelines and procedures, ensuring all safety devices function properly prior to startup.
  • Fulfill preventative maintenance requirements as outlined in the PM schedule.
  • Track production and quality metrics in the production tracking program.
  • Maintain cleanliness and adherence to safety procedures throughout the work area.
  • Perform any other assigned duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and basic mathematics.
  • Capacity to learn the technical aspects of PVC extrusion blow molding and mold set-ups.
  • Experience working with both automated, PLC-controlled machinery and hydraulically powered systems.
  • Competence in using Metric and Standard measurements, along with the ability to operate appropriate hand tools.
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Organized and disciplined in the maintenance of spare parts, tools, and materials.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
