$750 Sign-on Bonus

Starbucks Barista

Status: Part-time, 20 hours per week.
Schedule: Monday to Sunday; every other weekend required.
Shift: 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Butterworth Hospital, 100 Michigan St., Grand Rapids, MI
Offering: $16 per hour.

The Barista is responsible for crafting a diverse array of intricate beverage recipes using a complex combination of ingredients, adhering strictly to standardized recipes. This position requires an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, utilizing specialized kitchen equipment. The Barista will ensure that all ingredients and finished products meet stringent quality standards while maintaining safety and sanitation protocols. A key component of this role is to create a remarkable customer experience.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare a wide variety of intricate beverage recipes using complex combinations of ingredients, in accordance with standardized recipes.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to learn and retain knowledge of beverage ingredients, measurements, and recipes.
  • Successfully navigate a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
  • Multitask effectively to execute various duties, including recipe preparation, cash handling, stocking, and sanitation tasks.
  • Operate and maintain specialized kitchen equipment, troubleshoot issues, and escalate to leadership when necessary.
  • Identify and address any ingredients or finished products that do not meet established quality standards, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Prepare for and support semi-annual health department and external regulatory inspections.
  • Personalize customer experiences through comprehensive product knowledge and accurately fulfilling specific customer requests.
  • Effectively handle service recovery when products do not meet customer expectations.

Qualifications
Required

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and communicating effectively in English.
  • Basic math and computer skills.

Preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in food service and cash handling.
