We are seeking skilled-level technicians who can conduct diagnoses and repairs across all areas of automotive repair, with the option to specialize in certain fields. Labadie Auto Company is always on the lookout for talented Service Technicians at all experience levels to join our team. Your starting position—Apprentice, Technician, or Master Service Technician—will be determined by your level of experience.

Technician Growth Opportunities:

  • Service Technician Apprentice/Trainee (6-12 Months)

    • Annual Salary: $35,000 – $45,000
    • Company-paid starter tool program valued at up to $1,000.00
    • Paid training to initiate ASE/GM/Toyota Fundamental training and obtain 4 state certifications
  • Service Technician (12 Months to 5 Years)

    • Annual Salary: $45,000 – $65,000
    • Salary increases with each completed certification
    • Continued paid training for ASE/GM/Toyota Fundamental training
  • Master Service Technician (5+ Years)
    • Annual Salary: $65,000 – $100,000+
    • Paid training for ASE Master Certification and completion of GM/Toyota factory training

Hours:
This is a full-time position requiring 40+ hours per week. Our dealership hours are Monday and Thursday from 7:30 AM to 8 PM, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and Saturday from 8 AM to 3 PM. A work schedule will be established in consultation with a supervisor to ensure the dealership’s needs are met, including potential flexibility for hours outside of standard operation.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Execute assigned tasks as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnose vehicle issues based on customer feedback and thorough inspection.
  • Collaborate with the parts department to acquire necessary parts.
  • Preserve and label parts relating to warranty work or as requested by customers.
  • Assess assigned vehicles for any additional safety concerns or recommended service.
  • Promptly communicate with the service advisor regarding the need for extra work, unnecessary tasks, or delays in repairs.
  • Record all work completed and recommendations on the repair order.
  • Conduct road tests on vehicles.
  • Engage in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
  • Stay updated on manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Inspect and test drive newly delivered vehicles to identify visible damage or missing components that affect drivability.
  • Install optional equipment specified by the customer or dealership.
  • Report any machinery defects or malfunctions to a supervisor.
  • Ensure customer vehicles remain clean and notify the service advisor of any changes affecting the vehicle’s appearance or condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop area.
  • Take responsibility for dealership-owned tools and manuals, returning them to their designated place in proper condition.
  • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know standards.
  • Operate all tools and equipment safely.
  • Immediately report any safety concerns to management.
