Job Responsibilities:
- Construct mechanical sub-assemblies and final assemblies, along with executing any other mechanical tasks required for the position.
- Accurately complete in-process quality control (QC) check sheets as necessary.
- Conduct QC audits as required.
- Ensure high standards of craftsmanship on all projects being built.
- Adhere to established housekeeping practices.
- Take direction from the Leader and/or Supervisor.
- Provide updates on job status to the Mechanical Assembly Leader.
- Understand and prioritize due dates for jobs, scheduling work appropriately.
- Regularly report job progress to the Supervisor on a daily basis.
- Assist in the disassembly, packing, and loading of machines for shipment.
- Fulfill duties to cover for absences as needed.
- Order materials and coordinate with the receiving department as necessary.
- Support the start-up and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Propose improvements to work methods or materials that could enhance existing designs.
- Travel as required to assist with installations, troubleshooting, and problem-solving at customer locations.
- Read and interpret build prints, collaborating with Mechanical Engineers and Build Leaders to address any design issues related to machines or controls.
- Recommend, initiate, and follow up on engineering changes in alignment with ECO procedures.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as necessary.
- Provide training and support to new employees.
Job Requirements:
- A high school diploma is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a machine builder.
