Job Purpose
The primary responsibility is to evaluate and summarize New Model project activities while managing supplier part and process maturation to ensure alignment with New Model project timelines. This role leverages foundational engineering principles to guarantee that parts and processes meet the stringent quality requirements necessary for mass production.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct thorough reviews and assessments of supplier processes, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Process Quality Control Tables (PQCT), Operation Standards, and Manufacturing Quality Standards (MQS).
  • Prepare, develop, and oversee the approval process for part conformance prior to the production of sellable units.
  • Provide technical oversight and support throughout tool trials and any crisis situations as necessary.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to effectively address and resolve quality or tooling issues.
  • Review, evaluate, and report on initial part conformance through dimensional analysis and specification testing.
  • Validate that suppliers are planning for the appropriate volume and that process cycle times meet the necessary standards to support planned capacity.
  • Develop and manage special projects within the department while collaborating with team members to implement improvement plans.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a minimum of 6 years of relevant engineering experience required.
  • Cooperative education experience or 0-3 years of industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and circuits is essential.
  • Proficiency in Catia, Microsoft Office, and the ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Strong program management skills.

  • Offer technical assessments for part approvals to ensure readiness for mass production.
  • Evaluate supplier tooling and equipment readiness and facilitate the incorporation of critical dimension and attribute controls.
  • Review and assess part quality judgments during preparation and build events, providing informed recommendations.
  • Analyze supplier countermeasures and offer support as needed.
  • Validate the technical integrity of supplier product validation testing and oversee final approval processes.
  • Assess the readiness of supplier processes and equipment for mass production.

Working Conditions

  • This position is office-based with a hybrid remote work model, requiring travel approximately 2-3 days per week, which may include overnight and international assignments. Travel duration may increase during critical development phases.
  • Flexibility for last-minute travel for crisis support will be required.
  • Potential adjustments to shift hours may occur to accommodate trial builds during startup periods.
  • Production support responsibilities are included.
