Job description:
The Executive Director shall embody a vibrant personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and maintain active membership in a local church. This role will report to and collaborate closely with the Board of Directors at our Akron office.
The primary responsibilities include leading the development of organizational programs, strategic planning, and financial management in partnership with the Board and staff. The Executive Director will execute policies and plans as endorsed by the Board and maintain a thorough understanding of current trends and significant developments within the Pro-Life ministry.
The position is essential in fostering relationships and community engagement. The Executive Director will encourage volunteer involvement across all organizational activities, cultivate strong partnerships with community groups, and serve as a representative of the organization’s programs and viewpoints to external agencies, organizations, and the public. Additionally, the Director will create an inspiring environment that attracts and retains a diverse array of volunteers.
Key responsibilities encompass the planning and execution of events throughout the year and ensuring alignment with the organization’s long-term strategy. The Director will participate in Board meetings, offering detailed reports on ongoing work, project timelines, and overall progress, while keeping the Board informed about the organization’s status and influencing factors.
Public speaking is a vital component of this role, requiring the delivery of speeches and presentations at various events and training sessions. The Executive Director will supervise office staff to ensure effective job performance, conduct regular performance evaluations, and implement best human resource practices.
The role also includes oversight of marketing efforts, managing promotions for organizational activities, programs, and events. This entails creating and distributing biweekly eblasts and social media posts, as well as producing and disseminating a quarterly newsletter.
Financial management responsibilities involve planning, managing, and overseeing the organization’s operations and fundraising initiatives to ensure financial sustainability. Collaboration with the Board to prepare event budgets and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines is essential, along with ensuring that adequate funds are available for organizational activities. The Director will also review and approve service contracts with Board consent.
