Job description:

Part-Time Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)

The Gilbert Residence offers basic nursing care for 32 residents along with Supportive Living, Assisted Living, and Specialized Dementia care for an additional 58 residents. We have established a long-standing tradition of excellence in providing compassionate and dignified care.

The Resident Assistant delivers fundamental care to residents under the supervision of a Med-Tech. This role entails assisting residents with activities of daily living and aiding in the housekeeping of the assisted living unit. The aim of such care is to restore and maintain residents’ optimum level of independence, especially concerning daily activities and social interactions.

Duties:

  • Assist residents with bathing, toileting, and grooming.
  • Help residents with mobility aids including walkers, wheelchairs, and canes.
  • Measure and record resident intake and output.
  • Perform range of motion exercises.
  • Adhere to standard precautions and implement special isolation techniques as required.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions or important information to the supervisor.
  • Promote resident safety and uphold their rights.
  • Employ effective communication techniques with residents, visitors, and team members.
  • Engage in training activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Complete accurate charting of resident care.
  • Conduct light cleaning as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (preferred).
  • Experience in Dementia/Alzheimer’s care is preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • A positive attitude is essential.
  • Reliability is a must.
  • Availability on weekends is required.
