This role is situated at our Sturgis, MI location within the Abbott Nutrition division. Responsibilities
The Material Control team oversees all aspects of material management within the Sturgis Plant, including palletization, finished product storage, distribution, and computerized documentation through Cambar. The position involves supporting routine tasks associated with the roles of Material Control Operator, Switcher Operator, Palletizer Operator, and Shipping Clerk, including:

  • Executing shipping clerk duties
  • Palletizing and warehousing finished goods
  • Managing truck shipping logistics
  • Coordinating semi-trailer switching
  • Conducting consolidation and LTL order picking
  • Facilitating inbound/put away functions
  • Handling government order preparations and markups
  • Selecting samples for requests
  • Performing machine user maintenance and maintaining warehouse cleanliness
  • Assisting with additional duties, including overtime, as assigned by supervisors or managers
  • Supporting Parcel Operations as necessary
  • Updating and troubleshooting data within the computerized Warehouse Management System

Pay & Shift
This position operates on the Third Shift from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Qualifications
Required

  • High School diploma or GED
  • A valid CDL or willingness to obtain one within one year
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure, dynamic environments
  • Flexibility in scheduling, as the Utility position has a designated shift but may occasionally require assignment to different shifts

Preferred

  • Technical certification or degree with coursework in computer operations
