Job description:
As a Sanitation Operator at Materne North America, you will play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of high-speed production and food processing equipment. This position includes responsibilities related to cleaning, sanitation, and cleaning in place (CIP) processes, as well as various janitorial tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

– Execute CIP (Cleaning in Place) sanitation procedures during end-of-week and shutdown activities.
– Implement COP (Clean Out of Place) sanitation procedures according to the Master Sanitation Schedule.
– Clean and sanitize capture tanks, ensuring they are staged for production use according to established procedures.
– Open and close equipment, including gaskets and hoses, to facilitate sanitation activities as per protocols.
– Sanitize floor drains, waste and recycling areas, floors, walls, pipes, ducts, and other areas within the plant environment as required.
– Complete general housekeeping and cleaning tasks throughout the plant and other buildings on the property, including the fire suppression pump house, boiler room, and wastewater treatment facility.
– Participate in plant hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) audits.
– Accurately complete and submit daily paperwork and reports with appropriate detail.
– Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
– Adhere to safety procedures for chemical handling, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and GMP practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

– A High School diploma or GED is preferred.
– Proficiency in effective communication in English is required.
– Ability to operate sanitation programs utilizing touch screen controls and manual valves.
– Experience working safely with industrial sanitation chemicals.
– Competency in operating cleaning equipment, including a floor sweeper.
– Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high performance standards.
– Capacity to work autonomously with minimal direction.
– Ability to plan tasks and proactively address potential challenges.
– Mechanical aptitude to assemble and disassemble equipment and components is necessary.
– Basic math skills, including proficiency in weights and measures.

Physical Requirements:

– Must be capable of standing for the entire shift (8-12 hours).
– Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
– Willingness to walk up and down stairs multiple times during each shift.
