Job description:

Part-Time Midnight Shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

The Gilbert Residence is dedicated to providing exceptional nursing care to 32 residents, alongside supportive living, assisted living, and specialized dementia care for an additional 58 residents. Upholding a longstanding tradition of excellence, we are committed to delivering compassionate and dignified care.

The Resident Assistant plays a vital role in delivering basic care under the supervision of a Med-Tech. This position involves assisting residents with daily living activities and maintaining the cleanliness of the assisted living unit. The primary focus is on promoting and restoring each resident’s optimum level of independence, particularly in activities of daily living and social interactions.

Duties:

  • Assist residents with bathing, toileting, and grooming
  • Support residents in the use of walkers, wheelchairs, and canes
  • Measure and record intake and output
  • Perform range of motion exercises
  • Adhere to standard precautions and implement special isolation techniques when necessary
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions or other pertinent information to the supervisor
  • Advocate for resident safety and uphold their rights
  • Utilize effective communication methods when interacting with residents, visitors, and colleagues
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities
  • Maintain accurate charting of resident care

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (preferred)
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience is preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Positive and proactive attitude
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Reliability and consistency in attendance
  • Availability to work every other weekend
