Job description:

Phlebotomist I – Medina, OH – Monday to Friday (Rotational Weekends) – 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Pay Range: Minimum of $18.05+ per hour. Salary offers are determined based on various factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and applicable certifications. Responsibilities:
The Phlebotomist I will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Collect specimens in accordance with established procedures, including but not limited to drug screens, biometric screenings, and insurance examinations.
  • Administer oral solutions in accordance with training protocols.
  • Research and validate test and client information, confirming all written and electronic orders through lab technology systems, client communication, and approved resources.
  • Proficiently navigate computer systems to accurately enter data essential for success in this role.
  • Verify identification and accurately document billing information, collecting payments as necessary, in compliance with corporate policies.
  • Process specimens according to test orders, which includes labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing specimens for transportation.
  • Perform all non-patient-facing duties including inventory management, supply stocking, sanitization, filing, telecommunication, and email correspondence as needed.
  • Read, comprehend, and adhere to departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assist in the compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.
  • Maintain phlebotomy logs, such as maintenance and temperature logs, in a timely manner based on established frequencies.
  • Complete all required online and in-person training courses within designated timelines.

Qualifications:

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training in medical assisting or paramedic programs is preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification is preferred and required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service-oriented setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in keyboard and data entry is necessary.

This position necessitates effective communication skills in English.
