To support our commitment to excellence, you will be responsible for:

  • Upholding the Company’s mission, vision, and values in all daily activities.
  • Contributing to the formulation of departmental strategic goals and identifying key metrics to measure performance.
  • Assisting the Program Launch team with new tool tryouts and related activities as scheduled.
  • Collaborating closely with various departments to enhance efficiencies and throughput.
  • Stabilizing processes by diagnosing root causes of issues and implementing necessary corrective actions.
  • Soliciting quotes for new tools and supporting sourcing decisions.
  • Overseeing new tool projects from sourcing to Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Recommending the integration of new technologies where feasible, ensuring that all quoted and released products align with achievable rates, crew sizes, and plant performance metrics.
  • Guiding design, development, and testing of die methods, materials, and processes.
  • Troubleshooting and addressing die concerns with the Tool & Die supervisors and/or manager.
  • Engaging with customers, contractors, and die build shops as necessary.
  • Determining and documenting appropriate processing parameters and aiding in their auditing.
  • Prioritizing and implementing cost reduction initiatives while maintaining meticulous documentation.
  • Leading training sessions focused on die principles and best practices for die leaders.
  • Communicating material-related concerns to the Materials department (e.g., circle grid, material certification).
  • Supporting process improvement initiatives throughout the plant.
  • Championing assigned engineering changes and coordinating communication with all departments.
  • Assisting with the quoting process.
  • Training and mentoring engineers and cross-functional team members.
  • Supporting plant efforts to achieve customer awards and maintain quality certifications (e.g., TS 16949, ISO 14001).
  • Directing and participating in root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts (e.g., 8D reports, department meetings).
  • Adhering to all OSHA-required safety procedures during daily tasks.
  • Ensuring that all safety devices are functional and verifying correct usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) by the team.

This full-time, salary-exempt role is part of our corporate engineering team and reports to the Die Engineering Manager.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant technical, hands-on experience.
  • Background in engineering and die building.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving workflow and stamping process issues.
  • Familiarity with standard quality practices.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office software.
  • Proven leadership abilities and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., UG, Catia, AutoCAD Desktop).
  • Ability to visualize and understand all aspects of manufacturing equipment and tooling, with keen attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of automated processes, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems, and understanding their interrelations.
