We are excited to announce an opening for a Registered Dietitian 2 to provide nutritional services at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. The Campus Registered Dietitian will play a crucial role in nutrition education and the promotion of nutritional programs through events, presentations, social media, and various outreach initiatives, all while addressing the unique needs of our diverse clientele. This role may occasionally require evening and weekend hours based on event schedules, and candidates with campus nutrition experience are strongly preferred.
The successful candidate will:
– Collaborate closely with Executive Chefs and café management to select healthy menu options, evaluate sales trends, and promote nutritional campaigns.
– Assist with food service operations through special station and menu audits.
– Maintain an engaging and active presence on social media platforms.
– Serve as a liaison to the university accommodations office, addressing nutrition-related issues such as food allergies, weight management, and disordered eating, as well as providing meal selection assistance or accommodations.
– Organize campus-wide events and create regular communications aimed at motivating the community towards healthy eating habits.
– Stay informed about emerging trends in nutrition and dietetics.
– Participate in campus and community events, delivering presentations to support client objectives.
– Provide strategic planning and guidance in alignment with brand standards while ensuring effective communication with management and inter-departmental teams.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement: A Master’s degree with the completion of coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). For those eligible for the registration exam prior to January 1, 2024: a Bachelor’s degree with the relevant coursework and supervised practice as mandated by ACEND.
Credentials Requirement: Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and must obtain registration within 120 days of hiring. Certain states and/or facilities may require RD/RDN credentials at the time of hire, along with any necessary state certification/licensure.
Minimum Functional Experience: A minimum of 2 years of work experience in healthcare settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics, is required, alongside registered dietitian credentials.
