Job description:

Homestead Health Care is actively seeking compassionate and experienced Resident Aides to provide dedicated care to our residents in Rochester Hills, MI. As a Resident Aide, you will assist individuals with their daily living activities and offer companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to help others, exhibit exceptional communication skills, and establish meaningful connections with seniors.

No specific licenses or certifications are required for this position, and we are hiring immediately. Candidates must have experience in administering medications and should be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment, which may involve light housekeeping tasks.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health protocols, including infection control measures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Commitment to work every other weekend.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • A valid driver’s license or ID is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Ability to function independently and collaboratively within a team, and to arrive punctually for all shifts.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position, and Resident Aides will be scheduled for 8-hour shifts, including a requirement to work every other weekend.

Compensation:
