Job description:
Hourly Wage: $15.50 – $17.00 per hour

As a Dietary Cook at Vancrest, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience for our residents, ensuring that meals are not only enjoyable but also meet their nutritional needs.

Key Responsibilities include:

– Reviewing menus prior to the preparation of food to ensure quality and consistency.
– Inspecting special diet trays to verify accuracy and adherence to dietary requirements.
– Completing administrative tasks, including necessary forms and reports, and submitting them to the Director of Food Services.
– Collaborating with other departments to coordinate dietary services effectively.
– Working closely with the facility’s Dietician, Dietetic Technician, and other Supervisors to implement recommended dietary changes.
– Ensuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies and standards.
– Assisting in the establishment of the food service production line to guarantee timely meal preparation.
– Processing changes in diets and new dietary requests received from Nursing Services, upon approval from the Director of Food Services.
– Performing dishwashing and cleaning procedures to maintain hygiene standards and ensure utensils are available for the next meal.
– Assisting in the inventory and storage of incoming food supplies and performing additional duties as requested.

Cooks will be supervised by the Dietary Manager.
