Job description:

Homestead Health Care is in search of compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide exceptional care to our residents in Flint, MI, with a willingness to pass medications. The Caregiver will be responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living and offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate should possess a genuine passion for helping others, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with seniors. This is a part-time position, and we are hiring immediately, with no licenses or certifications required as we are willing to provide training.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications and injections to residents in accordance with medical charts, ensuring accurate documentation of medications.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the living environment, which may include light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in a resident’s condition to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and coworkers at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Valid Driver’s License or identification is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, and punctuality for every shift is expected.

Schedule:

This position is part-time, with caregivers scheduled for 8-hour shifts. Availability for every other weekend is required.

Pay:
