Position Summary:
The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, which includes meal planning, supervising kitchen personnel, coordinating activities, managing procurement of food supplies and kitchen equipment, and ensuring food preparation adheres to Oak View Group’s quality standards. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of relevant health, sanitation, and licensing ordinances, along with directing proper training for kitchen staff. Additionally, the Executive Chef will oversee the profitable operation of the Food Preparation Department.
This position offers an annual salary in the range of $65,000 to $75,000.

Responsibilities:
– Develop menus by anticipating guest attendance, market trends, and preferences while considering religious or seasonal occasions.
– Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Director and/or General Manager in pricing menu items and promoting banquets or special events.
– Complete appropriate menu engineering worksheets utilizing the food and beverage point-of-sale system for precise item analysis, and ensure effective communication to kitchen staff for successful menu execution.
– Supervise and direct all cooking activities, checking methods of food preparation and portion sizes through sensory evaluations.
– Oversee the procurement of food supplies and kitchen equipment, managing inventories, and approving the quality of received items.
– Consult with management regarding operational needs for game days, non-game days, and special events including cooking and serving arrangements, as well as any staffing requirements.
– Engage with Club members and guests through direct interactions, solicit feedback, and promote the Club within the community and industry.
– Maintain professional interaction with members/guests, accommodating changes and last-minute requests as needed.
– Recruit, hire, and train kitchen personnel, promoting their advancement as appropriate.
– Administer company policies, ensuring compliance among all staff, which includes disciplinary actions when necessary.
– Plan and manage work schedules and responsibilities for kitchen staff while overseeing payroll calculations.
– Maintain cost accounts, setting prices for food items to ensure profitability in kitchen operations, and meeting budgetary guidelines for costs.
– Analyze workplace conditions, implement safety policies, and address any issues concerning safe practices.
– Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Director in inventory management, ensuring accurate counts and pricing.
– Effectively manage the Point of Sale system for optimal performance.
– Partner with team members to deliver exceptional service, encompassing warm welcomes, memorable moments, and fond farewells.
– Notify management of guest complaints promptly and address them with service recovery practices.
– Embrace the dynamic nature of the role, supporting colleagues and adapting to varied tasks as required.
– Adhere to all mandatory operational standards, procedures, and policies, contributing to the essential functions of the role.

Qualifications:
– A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef, encompassing kitchen staff supervision, cost management, product knowledge, quality assurance, and sanitation.
– A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.
– A Serv Safe Management Certificate is required.
– Physical demands of the role include standing, walking, exposure to temperature fluctuations, lifting and carrying items weighing up to 100 lbs, and various other physical activities associated with kitchen operations.
