Job description:

PBNA is offering a competitive hourly wage of $24.75 for a seasonal Warehouse Person (Loader) position. This role entails a physically demanding schedule, with loading shifts commencing at 2 PM and lasting until the completion of assigned tasks.

The primary responsibilities include hand-building pallets of products for bulk and route trucks, ensuring strict adherence to order accuracy during the loading of outgoing trucks and the unloading of incoming trucks. Utilizing an electronic order system or order sheets, the incumbent will build loads with a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack, maintaining precision in loading and compliance with shipper/receiver documentation. Adherence to warehouse instructions while constructing loads is essential, and employees are expected to uphold a clean and safe work environment. This position may be subject to varying hours and weather conditions, as shift duration is contingent upon workload.

Key activities involve transporting truck loading, which includes moving full pallets from the warehouse to trailers and managing the return of pallets and plastic flats. Additionally, bulk truck loading requires the selection of specific packages and flavors from the warehouse for pallet loading, with an emphasis on maintaining pallet stability through proper stacking and shrink-wrapping. Route truck loading entails customizing selections based on sales orders and handling returned products and pallets.

The role demands the capability to lift heavy cases of product, typically weighing between 20-45 pounds, throughout a prolonged work period. The physical requirements include constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping.

Primary Job Accountabilities:

  • Operate a power pallet jack or forklift to transport materials to the picking area and build pallets/loads in accordance with load sheets or voice pick audio equipment, if applicable.
  • Document out-of-stock items on load tickets.
  • Securely wrap completed pallets/loads.
  • Submit paperwork for order verification prior to loading and ensure trucks are checked.
  • Stage pallets and load them into trucks as required.
  • Complete partial pallets and organize mixed pallets appropriately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Exhibit regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Helpful Experience:

  • Prior experience in a warehouse environment (e.g., order selection, product storage, product staging, operation of powered pallet jacks/forklifts).
  • Proficiency in forklift operation, including fundamental tasks such as navigating tight spaces, lifting, and lowering loads without causing damage.
  • Familiarity with racking systems and pallet management (e.g., efficient stacking and retrieval of pallets).
  • Experience in collaborative team environments, including effective communication and joint problem-solving.
