Job description:
Homestead Health Care is actively seeking compassionate and experienced Resident Aides to provide high-quality care to our residents in Rochester Hills, MI. The Resident Aide will play an essential role in assisting residents with their activities of daily living while offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will exhibit a genuine passion for helping others, possess exceptional communication skills, and cultivate meaningful relationships with seniors.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
- Maintain cleanliness in the living environment, which may include light housekeeping duties.
- Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor promptly.
- Communicate professionally with families, support services, and coworkers at Homestead.
- Adhere to all safety and health protocols, including infection control procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work every other weekend.
- Reliable transportation is mandatory.
- Valid driver’s license or identification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, while consistently arriving on time for shifts.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position with Resident Aides scheduled for 8-hour shifts, including a commitment to work every other weekend.
