Job description:
This position is for a DoD Cybersecurity Lead supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. The primary responsibilities include applying expertise in Systems Security Engineering (SSE) disciplines, such as Anti-Tamper, Trusted Systems & Networks, Cybersecurity, and Hardware/Software/Firmware Assurance. Additional duties encompass Supply Chain Risk Management, Acquisition Security, Cyber Resiliency, Information Protection, Critical Program Information (CPI) Identification, Threat and Vulnerability Analysis, Test & Evaluation, and Risk Identification and Management.
The individual will be responsible for the maintenance and support of DoD and Air Force computing systems and networks, both unclassified and classified. This role necessitates obtaining and maintaining classified systems administrative privileges for SIPRNet and other relevant systems. Key tasks include performing system trusted downloads, burning classified Compact Discs (CDs), maintaining and updating host system patches, implementing required system vulnerability mitigations, and setting up user access and accounts. Proficiency in currently utilized Windows Operating Systems (OS), Windows group policy objects, DoD Cybersecurity protocols, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) is essential.
The individual will assist the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) by providing multi-discipline expertise in project management, system security engineering, system administration, and network administration. Direct support will be provided to ensure compliance with the most current revisions of Security Directives applicable to Platform Information Technology (PIT), PITI, and non-PIT systems, including DoDI 8500.01, Cybersecurity, DoDI 8510.01, RMF for DoD IT, JSIG, and NIST 800-53.
Key responsibilities include providing cybersecurity support to assigned systems, which involves the development, modification, and coordination of various documents, such as PIT determination packages, cybersecurity strategy, System Security Plans (SSP), and security assessment plans. The role also includes assisting in the execution of the RMF to support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) for assigned systems, reviewing program office artifacts, and making recommendations to support RMF analysis. Additionally, the candidate will assist in managing and documenting Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of security requirements for weapon systems, performing vulnerability and threat assessments, and conducting cybersecurity site audits.
Furthermore, the individual will contribute to identifying Software Assurance (SWA) issues, performing software security analyses, and developing strategies for operational SWA sensitivity analysis. The role entails assisting with RMF-related activities, including the development and publication of necessary documents, and providing subject matter expertise for capability development planning activities under AFI 61-101.
What You Will Need:
- An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET federal security clearance, with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET/SCI
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum of SIX (6) years of relevant Cybersecurity experience
- Certification as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Strong knowledge of DoD Cybersecurity policies and procedures
- Experience in applying Cybersecurity within DoD and USAF weapon systems
