Job description:

The AVP, IT SOX Manager plays a pivotal role within a dynamic team, dedicated to providing assurance and insights into the IT control environment as it pertains to financial reporting processes. This position, part of the Internal Audit Department and the Internal SOX Testing Team, involves planning, executing, and reporting on IT control testing, while ensuring effective coordination with Internal Audit, External Audit, and the SOX Program Management Office.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute IT General Control and IT application control testing to provide assurance.
  • Deliver constructive challenges to the business concerning risk assessments and controls within the IT function.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager in enhancing the IT SOX testing program.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to synchronize testing efforts and produce work papers that meet audit standards.
  • Communicate testing results to stakeholders, process owners, and external auditors.
  • Create high-quality deliverables that comply with departmental and professional standards, ensuring timely completion of walkthroughs and testing within budget constraints.
  • Document exceptions and findings identified during the design and testing phases.
  • Provide interpretation, guidance, and insights to process owners regarding significant risks and controls within the IT domain.
  • Validate issues and address audit findings.
  • Assist in conducting annual risk assessments to identify key IT systems, platforms, and applications subject to SOX testing.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of overall experience, or a minimum of 6 years of overall experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 4 years of experience in IT SOX audit or in a relevant industry with SOX 404 regulatory requirements pertaining to the IT audit environment.
  • Strong understanding of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act Section 404, control frameworks (COSO, COBIT), and auditing standards.
  • Proficient technical IT auditing skills with the ability to navigate a complex environment encompassing numerous in-scope applications and various technology platforms.
  • Experience in testing and assurance functions specific to IT audit/control testing.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 – $130,000 annually, with eligibility for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation will depend on work experience, skill level, and knowledge. Salaries are adjusted according to market conditions in CA, NY Metro, and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to undergo a drug test, background investigation, and fingerprinting as part of the onboarding process.
  • Must satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must complete 9 months of continuous service with the company before being eligible to apply for other roles. Upon meeting this requirement, associates will need a minimum of 6 months in position before applying for future non-exempt roles. Employees at Level 8 or above require a minimum of 18 months in position before applying. All internal candidates must meet performance expectations and have manager approval to apply for other positions.
