Job description:

You will be responsible for the development of processes related to all wet processing tools, focusing on the creation of new chemical processes to enhance interfaces and devise innovative treatments aimed at improving device functionality. Your role will involve the successful transition of new wet processes from Advanced Research to high-volume manufacturing (HVM) and managing the design concept through to tool qualification for HVM. Familiarity with roll coating processes is advantageous. You will collaborate with various external vendors and may require international travel.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s Degree in an engineering or related technical discipline accompanied by 20 years of relevant technical experience, or 2 years as a Development Engineer II at First Solar.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or related technical discipline with 10 years of relevant technical experience, or 2 years as a Development Engineer II at First Solar.
- Master’s Degree in an engineering or related technical discipline with 8 years of relevant technical experience, or 2 years as a Development Engineer II at First Solar.
- Ph.D. in an engineering or related technical discipline accompanied by 5 years of relevant technical experience, or 2 years as a Development Engineer II at First Solar.
- Preferred experience in process engineering within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Desired experience with chemical processes in large volume applications.
- Experience with gravure roll coating and drying processes is a plus.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong background in chemistry.
- Basic understanding of semiconductor device physics.
- Familiarity with surface and bulk characterization techniques, including XRD, SEM, SIMS, XPS, and WDXRF.
- Mechanical aptitude coupled with a willingness to engage in hands-on equipment upgrades and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience in statistical data analyses, including Multivariate Analysis, Regression Analysis, Design of Experiments, and Measurement System Analysis.
- Ability to coordinate and execute multi-factor experiments in a production environment.
- Proficiency in statistical software, preferably JMP.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office software, particularly MS Access.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize chemical processing.
- Transition new processes to the HVM platform.
- Design and qualify new equipment for wet processing.
- Plan, execute, and analyze multi-factor experiments.
- Provide clear written and verbal guidance to a team of technicians.
- Actively participate in cross-functional team reviews.
- Effectively communicate engineering test results.
- Liaise with upper management, R&D engineers, and technicians.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and housekeeping standards.

US Physical Requirements:
