Job description:

Lead the transition of new process and product programs from pre-production through manufacturing qualification to full-scale implementation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing the master schedule, downtime, and ramp plans
  • Overseeing program budgets and identifying key risks
  • Coordinating activities across cross-functional teams
  • Advocating for programs within the change management system
  • Delivering regular updates to stakeholders, including GMO operations, ME sustaining and integration teams, and executive leadership.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline with 2 years as a Manufacturing Engineer II at First Solar or 5 years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; alternatively, 4 years of engineering combined with 6 years of technical experience in manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline coupled with 2 years as a Manufacturing Engineer II at First Solar or 5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing; alternatively, 4 years of engineering combined with 3 years of technical experience in manufacturing.
  • Master’s Degree in a technical field with 2 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer II or 4 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • PhD in a technical discipline with 2 years as a Manufacturing Engineer II or 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven experience in leading technical programs through the change management system.
  • Ability to coordinate activities with multiple stakeholders across all First Solar locations.
  • Proficient in creating and delivering effective presentations to senior management.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, including CpW, OpEx, and CapEx, with proficiency in budget tracking and monitoring.

Physical Requirements:

Manufacturing & Maintenance Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day; frequent stair climbing and lifting (up to 58 pounds occasionally and 37 pounds frequently).
