Job description:

We are seeking to fill a full-time Barista position, with immediate availability. The role is located at American Electric Power, 1 Riverside Plaza, Columbus, OH 43215. Please note that applications will only be accepted online.

This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM. While previous barista experience is preferred, it is not a requirement.

Compensation: The pay range for this role is $18.50 to $19.00 per hour. An internal employee referral bonus is available.

Job Summary: The Barista prepares and serves coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items, adhering to HACCP guidelines and maintaining high standards of quality in food service. This position involves interacting with customers and team members in a friendly and courteous manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using established measures and recipes.
• Accurately enter orders into the POS system and process cash and credit transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service area by replenishing condiments, beverages, and supplies.
• Ensure proper food presentation and maintain serving temperatures, following HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Adhere to approved recipes and production standards for food preparation.
• Keep display equipment clean and free from debris during service.
• Clean equipment and workspace thoroughly before transitioning to other assignments.
• Greet customers and interact to ensure satisfaction, relaying any concerns to supervisors.
• Serve customers promptly and efficiently to minimize delays in service.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of daily menu items and communicate them effectively to customers.
• Utilize selling techniques to guide customer decisions.
• Ensure display foods are attractively merchandised and served neatly as per standards.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.
