Job description:

Nino Salvaggio is seeking a Catering Party Planning Manager for our upcoming Livonia location, scheduled to open in Fall 2025. Comprehensive training will be provided at our various metro Detroit locations, including Troy, Bloomfield Township, Clinton Township, and St. Clair Shores.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the coordination and administration of all facets of the Nino Salvaggio catering program and Fresh to Go (curbside shopping), ensuring effective management of associates and customer service.
  • Train personnel as needed to ensure optimal staffing and execution of both the catering program and Fresh to Go services.
  • Inspire and motivate associates to meet sales and customer service targets.
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef, Director of Culinary Operations, and General Manager to ensure successful execution of the catering program, providing constructive feedback as needed.
  • Maintain an informed understanding of products and services outlined in Nino’s Party Planning Guide.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of menu planning, including factors influencing menu choices, food pairings, and necessary equipment.
  • Utilize Nino’s Party Planning Order Entry software accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure thorough follow-up on PPG/Catering orders, managing execution from start to finish, including order accuracy and quality delivery coordination.
  • Collaborate with complementary departments (such as Floral, Wine, Bakery, Produce Prep, Deli) to fulfill customer orders and requests.
  • Provide exemplary customer service, assisting clients with their orders, answering inquiries, and making thoughtful suggestions.
  • Drive department sales growth through effective upselling and marketing efforts, soliciting new catering opportunities.
  • Execute Fresh to Go services efficiently, including e-grocery processing, bagging, and proper storage until delivery.
  • Adhere to procedures for informing customers about product substitutions.
  • Ensure an outstanding Fresh to Go experience, maintaining order accuracy and timely fulfillment.
  • Regularly assess and log items for removal from Fresh to Go, partnering with the corporate office to keep the e-grocery website updated.
  • Maintain knowledge of products across all departments, particularly Gourmet to Go.
  • Attend and successfully complete the Responsible Alcohol Sales training course, adhering to established sales guidelines and regulations.
  • Handle cash register operations and customer payments as required.
  • Oversee invoicing and record retention/analysis for all catering and Fresh to Go orders.
  • Manage catering supplies, including ordering and inventory as necessary.
  • Strategically place and replenish Party Planning Guides and supplemental materials throughout the store.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include assisting in other departments.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a solid understanding of various departmental operations.
  • Culinary degree or a combination of relevant work experience and education preferred.
  • Prior experience in catering event planning is preferred.
  • Experience in cash handling is required.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Proven experience in sales and customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating innovation and proactivity.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in multitasking while maintaining a positive demeanor and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to frequently bend, lift, and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Competence in composing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals, including departmental memos and customer communications.
