Job description:

We are seeking a motivated Member Services Representative to join our team in a part-time capacity during weekends and afternoons. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring a welcoming and “Judgement Free” environment. Bilingual candidates in English and Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

• Greet members and guests with warmth, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
• Answer phone calls courteously and assist callers with various inquiries.
• Check in members, conduct tours, sign up new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events to members and guests.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage or merchandise transactions using the point of sale system.
• Utilize the POS system to assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean and orderly front desk area and lobby.
• Conduct regular facility cleaning and upkeep, including mopping spills, trash removal, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
• Regularly clean all exercise equipment and tanning beds.
• Ensure restrooms and wet areas are cleaned and stocked on a consistent basis.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Candidates must undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire, with continued employment contingent upon satisfactory results.
• Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage positively and professionally with members and co-workers, exceeding expectations.
• Prior customer service experience is preferred.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• A positive and professional demeanor is essential.
• Reliability and punctuality are crucial.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within the timeframe specified by the company and possess the physical capability to perform CPR/AED in emergencies.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Ability to communicate continuously in person or on the phone during shifts.
• Maintain physical ability to administer CPR in emergencies.
• Adequate vision and hearing capabilities, with or without correction.
