We are currently seeking an Athletics Event Assistant for the Fall season to join our Athletics Department.

Job Summary:
The Athletics Event Assistant will provide essential administrative and operational support to the athletic director and coaching staff, facilitating event management and ensuring the seamless operation of athletic events at Harrison High School.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Game and Event Management:

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of athletic events, including facility setup, entry gate management, and ticket sales.
  • Collaborate with event management personnel, such as ticket takers, scorekeepers, and security staff during athletic events.
  • Aid in game-day operations, including the preparation of the field or court.
  • Coordinate with event personnel, including sideline and press box staff and officials.
  • Monitor pre-game activities to ensure events commence on schedule and conclude appropriately.
  • Assist with first aid and emergency procedures during athletic events.
  • After events, securely lock all doors and gates, ensure electronics and lights are turned off, and report results to the Athletic Director.

Communication and Promotion:

  • Act as a liaison for coaches, athletes, parents, and other stakeholders, relaying information and addressing inquiries and issues.
  • Utilize relevant media and social media platforms to communicate game updates and final results.
  • Collaborate with the press box regarding halftime promotions and recognitions.
  • Inform home and away coaching staff and officials about logistics for pre-game, halftime, and post-game meeting spaces.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Assist student-athletes with various needs by providing information, resolving issues, and promoting their well-being.
  • Monitor coach compliance with school policies and athletic regulations.
  • Report facility issues to the Athletic Director for necessary maintenance.
  • Complete incident reports related to inappropriate spectator behaviors.
  • Enforce general security procedures, including post-game protocols and strategies to ensure the safety of participants, officials, and fans.
  • Adhere to all district and state policies governing high school athletic programs.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
