Job description:

As a Kitchen Lead, you will serve as an ambassador for our mission of building healthier communities by connecting people to real food. This pivotal role acts as the foundation of our restaurant’s hot food preparation, ensuring that every guest receives high-quality, expertly cooked, and beautifully presented dishes. The Kitchen Lead must possess exceptional culinary skills, leadership capabilities, and operational awareness to effectively manage the complete cycle of kitchen operations during various service periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen throughout service.
  • Prepare and cook hot food items following established recipes and quality standards.
  • Adhere to food safety protocols, including proper FIFO rotation.
  • Conduct regular taste tests to ensure food quality.
  • Manage oven capacity and maintenance for optimal food production.
  • Coordinate with the Manager on Duty, Cold Prep, and Service teams during shifts.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions between AM and PM operations.
  • Document waste resulting from quality issues or expiration—run hot food during off-peak hours and assist with other stations as needed.
  • Lead food tastings and midday quality checks; support new menu training and implementation.
  • Process receiving orders and report any shortages or quality discrepancies.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Candidates must be able to satisfactorily perform all essential job duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Availability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
