Job description:

Act as a supportive partner to the classroom teacher in fostering a positive learning environment for preschool-aged children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the planning and implementation of the daily curriculum in alignment with the teacher’s direction.
  • Aid in creating and organizing the learning environment, which includes establishing interest centers and preparing necessary materials and supplies.
  • Supervise students during the teacher’s presence and in their absence.
  • Assist with routine housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized classroom.
  • Document the periodic cleaning schedule for cots, materials, and furnishings.
  • Support the teacher in various capacities as needed.
  • Uphold a professional demeanor and embody the school’s values at all times.
  • Diligently follow the systems, policies, and procedures established by the Head of School and/or Preschool Administrator.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, such as workshops, seminars, and conferences, as directed.
  • Obtain an Ohio Educational Aide Permit prior to the start date if a teaching license is not held.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma is required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with preschool or elementary-aged children is essential.
  • Strong Christian values and the ability to work comfortably within a multi-denominational Christian community.
