Responsibilities:
- Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections in compliance with established procedures, utilizing one or more of the following methods:
- Visual Inspection (VT)
- Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Radiography (RT)
- Verify weld fit-ups using basic gauges.
- Collaborate closely with NDT Engineering, Weld Engineering, Welders, and Quality Engineering.
- Assist colleagues with the use of equipment, processes, procedures, and evaluation of welds and material defects.
- Complete and maintain all necessary documentation in accordance with work instructions and policies.
- Follow instructions as outlined in routings, sketches, prints, procedures, manuals, and records for assigned inspections.
- Document non-conformance issues accurately on designated forms and logs.
- Move hardware as required using material handling equipment.
- Perform machine maintenance, housekeeping, and other assigned duties.
- Adhere strictly to all operations, safety, and security protocols.
- Thrive in a collaborative team environment, effectively communicating with both hourly and salaried employees.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in NDT Inspection; completion of an accredited training program may be considered.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to meet required vision standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, procedures, and work instructions.
- Capability to obtain and maintain all necessary written and operational certifications.
- Skills requisite for maintaining accurate documentation of inspection data.
- Experience utilizing micrometers and other gauges specified in work instructions.
- Willingness and availability to work any shift (2nd shift: 3 PM – 11 PM, 3rd shift: 11 PM – 7 AM).
The starting rate for this position in Ohio is $35.57 per hour. The total compensation package may encompass a full array of medical, retirement, and additional benefits.
