Job Overview:
As a Front Desk Agent, you will respond professionally and courteously to guests arriving, departing, and those already in-house, providing them with accurate and timely information and services. You will also handle inquiries via telephone and in-person related to reservations, hotel information, and guest concerns.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and efficiently complete guest check-in procedures daily, utilizing both manual and computerized methods to ensure guests are satisfied and assigned to their requested rooms.
  • Facilitate guest departures by following established procedures to close accounts and prepare rooms for the next guests.
  • Accurately calculate and post transactions, receipts, and guest accounts following proper cash handling procedures, ensuring timely and precise hotel charges upon check-out while maintaining accurate hotel records.
  • Respond courteously to inquiries and accept reservations in person and by telephone, effectively communicating hotel rates and utilizing suggestive selling techniques to boost occupancy and revenue.
  • Maintain strong customer relations by staying informed about all in-house activities and local events, allowing you to address questions and concerns knowledgeably and promptly.
  • Operate PBX equipment for incoming calls, assist with outgoing calls, schedule wake-up calls, and page guests, providing timely and efficient service.
  • Manage cash transactions at the front desk and uphold full responsibility for your assigned bank according to hotel policy.
  • Exhibit a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.

Qualifications:
Education/Formal Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • No previous experience required.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficient in basic mathematics, knowledgeable in standard cash handling procedures, and familiar with computerized cash register systems.
  • Prior experience in customer service is preferred, along with general knowledge of basic customer service skills.
  • Fluent in both oral and written English.
  • Ability to use tact and understanding when addressing various customer service issues, including those of a stressful or emotional nature.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, particularly when multitasking.
