Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled culinary professional for the Cook position at The Lytle Park Hotel. The successful candidate will play a vital role in food preparation, ensuring the execution of menu items and delivering exceptional plate presentations that exceed guest expectations. Candidates should possess a minimum of one year of relevant experience, particularly in hot line operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily prep tasks and set up the line for service.
  • Prepare all hot food items in accordance with standard recipes and specifications from guest orders, ensuring product consistency.
  • Assess the quality of incoming food products, reporting any issues to the Sous Chef, and ensure proper labeling, dating, and storage of all food items.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, promptly reporting any safety concerns.
  • Uphold high standards of food preparation in a timely manner while efficiently managing multiple tasks.
  • Adhere to standard recipes and presentations to meet required food costs and ensure uniform quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance productivity.
  • Handle and rotate food items according to established procedures, including monitoring cooking and cooling temperatures.
  • Utilize safe knife skills effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Sous Chef on food requisitions based on business needs.
  • Respect and accommodate food servers’ requests concerning guest preferences and needs.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Sous Chef and assist in other areas as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of culinary experience is required, with a preference for experience in hospitality. Hot line experience is essential.
