  • Starting pay of $24 per hour, along with a $7,000 Sign-On BONUS.
  • Full-time driver position available.
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, with a 4-5 day work week based on Hours of Service.

Position Purpose:
The Driver is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck for local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight delivery routes. This role entails efficiently delivering and unloading food and related products to customers while adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The Driver will maintain professional communication with customers, vendors, and co-workers to ensure timely and accurate response to inquiries. The position requires effective teamwork within the department and organization, along with completing any assigned duties to advance the company’s mission.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting all necessary safety inspections (e.g., pre/post trip) of the tractor, truck, and trailer in compliance with DOT regulations, taking appropriate action to address any safety concerns, and reporting required repairs.
  • Adhering to all DOT regulations and company driving guidelines and policies.
  • Promptly reporting safety hazards and ensuring secure loading of freight.
  • Performing item count checks and verifying customer invoices for loaded products, completing all associated paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Maneuvering the tractor to the loading dock and attaching preloaded trailers as required.
  • Following predetermined delivery routes to fulfill customer orders, unloading products into designated storage areas at customer locations.
  • Conducting damage control checks on items, scanning, and consulting with a supervisor regarding the removal of orders per company policy. Collecting payments (cash or checks) where necessary.
  • Loading customer returns onto the trailer and securing it, ensuring that all equipment, including the tractor and trailer, is locked and secured.
  • Returning damaged goods and customer returns to the driver check-in and completing the requisite paperwork. Clearing equipment, materials, and trash from the trailers as needed.
  • Maintaining daily records of hours of service and logging them per Federal DOT, state, and company standards.
  • Performing general housekeeping duties within the tractor, loading dock area, and maintaining clean and clear trailers. At the end of each shift, securing all equipment and completing any necessary paperwork.
  • Carrying out other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 6 months of tractor-trailer driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A license.
  • Compliance with all state licensing and certification requirements (as applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Successful completion of a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Passing of a road test.
  • Valid DOT Health Card or the ability to secure one.
  • Capability to hand-lift and utilize two-wheelers, lift gates, and other equipment to move and stack products and freight of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift, generally ranging from 10-35 pounds up to 60-90 pounds, depending on the location.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Over 1 year of experience in foodservice distribution or as a tractor-trailer driver.
  • Familiarity with onboard computers and electronic log systems (e.g., PeopleNet).
  • Experience with handheld point of delivery scanning systems (e.g., POD).
  • Background in customer service-related roles.
