Job description:
The Night Auditor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of guest accounts by reconciling the income from various departments. This role includes posting charges such as room fees, taxes, and local phone calls to guest folios. In addition to audit responsibilities, the Night Auditor serves at the front desk during the night shift, typically from 11 PM to 7 AM, assisting guests as needed and maintaining the safety and security of the hotel during nighttime hours.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete the posting of all charges.
- Receive and record guest payments efficiently.
- Post daily room charges, taxes, and local calls, ensuring totals align with the room revenue report.
- Prepare a revenue report encapsulating all daily rates.
- Generate the Housekeeper’s Report by 7 AM each day, detailing the status of check-outs, stay-overs, vacant rooms, and out-of-order rooms.
- Assign rooms to incoming guests courteously and efficiently.
- Maintain the daily walk-in reservation count sheet.
- Provide exceptional telephone service, adhering to basic courtesy rules.
- Accurately record and execute all wake-up calls.
- Offer information and assistance to guests in a polite manner.
- Follow established policies and protocols in emergency situations.
- Complete the night audit by the change of shift at 7 AM and relay pertinent information to department heads, especially regarding the morning’s breakfast operations and meeting arrangements.
- Fulfill assigned duties and confirm completion on the shift checklist.
- Execute various additional tasks as delegated by the Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Preference for candidates with previous experience as a Hotel Night Auditor.
- Strong preference for those with a background as a Hotel Guest Services Representative.
- Proficient in basic mathematical calculations.
- Familiarity with office technology and accounting/bookkeeping preferred.

Work Environment:
