Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Member Services Representative to join our team on a part-time basis during weekends and afternoons. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, thereby ensuring a welcoming and “Judgement Free” environment. Bilingual candidates fluent in both English and Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service / Front Desk Activities:

  • Warmly greet members and guests, providing outstanding customer service to create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Answer phone inquiries in a friendly manner and assist callers with a range of questions.
  • Facilitate member check-ins, conduct tours for prospective members, sign up new members, and communicate updates and events effectively.
  • Address member inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Process beverage and merchandise transactions using the point-of-sale system.
  • Assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries via the POS system.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Maintain a clean and orderly front desk area and lobby.
  • Conduct routine facility cleaning, including mopping spills under equipment, trash removal, cleaning windows and mirrors, and ensuring weights are properly re-racked.
  • Regularly clean exercise equipment and tanning beds.
  • Ensure restrooms and wet areas are clean and well-stocked.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Applicants must submit to a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of employment; continued employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check outcome.
  • Excellent customer service skills, characterized by a positive, professional interaction with members and co-workers, consistently exceeding member expectations.
  • Prior experience in customer service is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • An upbeat, positive, and professional demeanor is essential.
  • Punctuality and reliability are critical.
  • Certification in CPR/AED must be obtained and maintained within the timelines established by the company, along with the physical ability to perform CPR/AED in emergencies.
