Facilities Technician:

Essential Functions:

  • Greet guests warmly, fostering personal connections to ensure they feel welcomed and valued.
  • Conduct property walk-arounds throughout shifts, addressing any encountered issues by collecting trash and used towels while remaining vigilant for safety and security concerns. Report issues to the appropriate department or General Manager as necessary.
  • Source and order maintenance supplies from established vendors while adhering to budget, thus minimizing equipment downtime and revenue loss. Obtain approval from the General Manager for major purchases.
  • Utilize Quore to document maintenance issues comprehensively, maintaining up-to-date records of tasks to be completed and those already addressed. Ensure all work orders submitted through Quore are completed.
  • Oversee daily checks of the swimming pool/spa and filtration system to ensure health compliance, as well as maintain the cleanliness of pool/spa areas.
  • Safeguard property security by managing master keys and ensuring all security equipment is operational, including cameras and door locks.
  • Keep accurate records for mandated items such as pool and spa documentation, boiler certifications, and elevator inspections.
  • Assist in verifying the operational readiness of fire protection systems and ensure personnel are trained in their use.
  • Perform touch-up painting and drywall repairs as needed.
  • Execute minor electrical repairs and replacements, potentially involving wiring tasks.
  • Address plumbing repairs and replacements.
  • Provide support for lawn care, snow removal, and overall grounds maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair kitchen and laundry equipment, boilers, and HVAC systems, based on experience.
  • Respond promptly to guest concerns or issues per Suburban Inns’ and brand standards.
  • Contribute to the hotel’s ongoing preventative maintenance program.
  • Maintain clear communication across all hotel departments.
  • Operate company vehicles and heavy machinery, including lawn care and snow removal equipment.
  • Adhere to all Suburban Inns processes.
  • Exhibit consistent attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum Knowledge: Ability to interpret information, perform basic arithmetic functions, and possess basic computer skills, record keeping, and word processing capabilities. Good communication skills are essential.
  • Formal Education and Experience: At least one year of relevant job experience is required.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Hazcom Training, Lock-Out/Tag-Out certification, and an excellent driving record are mandatory.
