Primary location: Hilliard, Ohio
Employment status: Full-Time
Under the direction of the Value Stream Manager and with frequent guidance from a Team Leader, this role is responsible for a variety of tasks essential to the safe operation of highly automated manufacturing equipment, in alignment with company guidelines and customer requirements. The execution of these tasks is vital to maintaining the Safety, Quality, Reliability, and Cost standards of plant production lines, which operate continuously, 24 hours a day, five days a week. New hires will undergo a three-month probationary period.
Shift Example:
Third Shift: Monday night 9 PM to 7 AM Friday (four 10-hour days); overtime may start on Sunday night.
Compensation: $24.00 an hour for 3rd Shift.

The ceiling tile manufacturing process involves operating and monitoring machines that cut, size, paint, and package ceiling tiles, in addition to shipping finished products to customers. Employees are expected to maintain an orderly, clean, and safe work environment, as safety is our paramount work standard. We have well-defined startup and shutdown procedures for all equipment and provide comprehensive training to all operators on these critical processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Safely start up, operate, and shut down production equipment, including periodic lockout/tag-out procedures to clear line jams or facilitate machine repairs. Compliance with all safety policies and participation in the Hilliard safety system is essential.
- Conduct basic operator maintenance checks on production equipment to ensure the production line operates safely and produces quality products.
- Perform quality inspections to meet established standards, minimize rework, and manage non-conforming materials.
- Read and adhere to daily production schedules, making accurate production entries into computer systems.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices by keeping assigned work areas and equipment clean and organized.
- Safely handle raw materials, goods in process, and finished products.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the production lead or management.
Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, pulling, and carrying, including the use of stairs/catwalks.
- Exposure to a dusty environment that is not climate-controlled.
- Interaction with fiberglass and other dusty materials.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and rotate through all core positions.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, candidates must be capable of performing essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of prior industrial or warehouse experience preferred.
- Experience with lean/process improvement is advantageous.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in core production roles within 30 days of hire.
- Must be willing to obtain and maintain a forklift license.
- Flexibility to work overtime as required.
- Capacity to work independently while maintaining strong interpersonal skills in a team environment.
