Morrison Industrial Equipment is actively seeking an Industrial Floor Cleaning Mechanic to support the growth of our industrial floor cleaning equipment division at our Mobile Allied East facility located in Troy, MI. This role covers counties within our Saginaw, Brighton, and Mason branch areas, including the metro Detroit region. Position Overview
The Industrial Floor Cleaning Mechanic will be responsible for the preparation, maintenance, demonstration, and delivery of industrial floor cleaning equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical aptitude, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to maintaining equipment at the highest standards of performance and reliability. Starting compensation ranges from $23 to $25 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Preparation and Maintenance
- Prepare and maintain all demonstration and rental equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on all rental equipment, both in the field and upon return.
- Rebuild and refurbish trade-in machines for resale in the used equipment market.
- Diagnose and repair equipment issues, seeking technical support as needed.
- Maintain an adequate parts inventory for the equipment fleet.
Customer Support and Training
- Assist with on-site equipment demonstrations, providing technical expertise and addressing inquiries from operators and decision-makers.
- Deliver rental equipment to customer locations and facilitate comprehensive operator training.
- Provide ongoing support during rental periods to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Retrieve equipment upon completion of rental agreements.
Inventory and Parts Management
- Order replacement parts from the manufacturers we represent.
- Maintain familiarity with parts catalogs and ordering systems.
- Source and procure shop supplies to maintain sufficient inventory levels.
- Utilize computer systems to locate and order required parts effectively.
Facility and Vehicle Maintenance
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of personal workspaces, including the shop and office areas.
- Perform cleaning duties for designated facility areas.
- Clean and maintain company vehicles and trailers used for equipment transport.
- Assist with general facility maintenance tasks as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical aptitude with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; a current chauffeur license is required.
- Physical capability to lift and move heavy equipment.
