Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Food and Food Service Delivery Driver to join our team in fulfilling a vital role within the country’s food supply chain. Our drivers not only ensure that customers receive their products punctually and in excellent condition but also serve as the face of our company, fostering lasting relationships with our clients.

The Driver, Formula CDL-A, will be responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck for both intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight deliveries. This role requires adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations while delivering and unloading food and food-related products in a safe and timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, addressing inquiries accurately and promptly.
  • Collaborate as a team member, undertaking various duties to enhance service delivery.
  • Conduct all mandated safety checks (including pre/post-trip inspections) in accordance with DOT regulations, ensuring that vehicles meet safety standards and addressing any necessary actions.
  • Report safety issues and required repairs promptly.
  • Adhere to all DOT regulations and company guidelines for safe driving.
  • Immediately report safety hazards and inspect trailers to ensure proper loading and securement of freight.
  • Perform item count checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
  • Accurately complete all required freight paperwork.
  • Position tractor at loading docks and attach preloaded trailers as needed.
  • Deliver customer orders based on a predetermined schedule.
  • Unload products and transport them to designated customer storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks on items, scanning them, and consulting supervisors regarding order removals as per company policy.
  • Verify deliveries with customers and obtain appropriate signatures.
  • Collect payments (cash or checks) when required, and secure customer returns in the trailer.
  • Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight remain locked and secured at all times.
  • Handle damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary paperwork, and maintain a clean and organized loading dock area.
  • Document daily hours of service and maintain logs per Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Undertake general housekeeping responsibilities within the tractor and loading areas.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A license and must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
