Job description:
The Banquet Set-up Attendant is tasked with the set-up and breakdown of banquet functions, as well as monitoring designated areas during events to ensure exceptional service to all guests. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights and weekends.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three to six months of relevant experience, or a suitable combination of training and experience.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
- Capable of managing challenging or emotional customer interactions and responding promptly to guest needs and requests.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism, treating all individuals with respect and consideration, regardless of their status or position.
- Familiarity with policies and procedures, with the ability to interpret and adhere to them appropriately.
- Knowledge of safety and security protocols, including the reporting of potentially hazardous conditions and the proper use of equipment and materials.
- Effective communication skills, able to present ideas and information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding service to guests at all times in a warm and enthusiastic manner.
- Perform cleaning tasks including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, and wiping areas clean before, during, and after events.
- Maintain the banquet area in an organized, safe, and sanitary condition.
- Ensure all banquet rooms are cleared and securely locked at the conclusion of events and at the end of each workday.
- Store all equipment in designated areas.
- Be present in the banquet room and greet guests upon arrival.
- Adhere to hotel standards in food, beverage, and quality guest service.
- Present menus, answer inquiries, and take food and beverage orders as needed.
- Prepare food according to recipes.
- Assist in food production based on menu specifications and guest count.
- Monitor tables within the assigned section, ensuring all patrons receive timely service.
- Clear and clean tables and reset counters as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and wait stations, ensuring assigned areas are stocked at the end of each shift.
- Accurately report tips for tax processing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This position involves access to back-of-house areas and sensitive information, frequent interaction with guests and colleagues, and responsibilities that include access to restricted areas within the hotel, such as Master Keys, guest rooms, storage facilities, and secured file cabinets.
