Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Member Services Representative to join our team on a part-time basis for weekend mornings, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Bilingual candidates who speak both English and Spanish are highly encouraged to apply. In this role, you will provide exemplary customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring an outstanding “Judgement Free” experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

• Warmly greet members and guests, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
• Answer phone calls in a friendly manner, providing assistance with various inquiries.
• Check in members, conduct facility tours, facilitate new member sign-ups, and communicate updates and events effectively.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage and merchandise purchases using the point of sale system.
• Assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing inquiries utilizing the POS system.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean and organized front desk area and lobby by going above and beyond.
• Conduct regular facility cleaning, including mopping spills, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
• Ensure all exercise equipment and tanning beds are kept clean.
• Regularly clean and stock restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Candidates must consent to a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire; continued employment will depend on a satisfactory background check outcome.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage positively and professionally with members and colleagues.
• Prior experience in customer service is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Maintain an upbeat, positive, and professional demeanor.
• Punctuality and reliability are essential.
• CPR/AED Certification must be obtained and maintained within the timeframes stipulated by the company; physical capability to perform CPR is required.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods, with frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand motions.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull a moderate amount of weight (up to 50 lbs).
• Ability to communicate verbally in person or over the phone throughout the shift.
• Maintain the physical ability to administer CPR in a medical emergency.
• Normal visual and auditory capabilities, with or without correction.
