Job description:

The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is seeking to recruit multiple part-time Housekeeping Aids, who will operate under the Environmental Management Service. This position requires a commitment of 16 hours per week.

Duties
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting interim cleaning in procedure and operating rooms.
  • Safely disposing of infectious waste post-procedures.
  • Performing various cleaning tasks, including dry and wet mopping, scrubbing, stripping, and refinishing surfaces.
  • Utilizing appropriate cleaning solutions to maintain a variety of floor and ceiling materials.
  • Conducting damp dusting as required.
  • Emptying and cleaning trash receptacles.
  • Collecting and removing soiled linens.
  • Ensuring restrooms are maintained in a sanitary state, including lavatories, toilets, urinals, and shower stalls.
  • Cleaning and polishing furniture and fixtures using diverse cleaning solutions and chemicals.

Work Schedule
The work schedule will be variable, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements
Candidates may need to occasionally lift and move objects weighing over 50 pounds and may be required to use heavy powered cleaning equipment, though not on a continual basis.
