Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Member Services Representative to join our team! Bilingual candidates fluent in both English and Spanish are encouraged to apply. In this role, you will deliver exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring a welcoming "Judgement Free" experience for everyone.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

  • Greet members and guests with outstanding customer service, ensuring a comfortable and friendly atmosphere.
  • Answer phone inquiries in a courteous manner, assisting callers with a range of questions.
  • Check in members, conduct tours, enroll new members, log amenities, and share updates and event information with members and guests.
  • Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Process beverage or merchandise transactions using the point-of-sale system.
  • Utilize the POS system to assist with issuing new membership cards, updating addresses, and addressing billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Ensure the front desk area and lobby are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Perform routine facility cleaning and upkeep, which includes mopping spills, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and returning weights to their proper places.
  • Regularly clean exercise equipment and tanning beds.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper stocking in restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Candidates for the overnight position must undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire, with continued employment contingent upon a satisfactory outcome.
  • Exceptional customer service skills are essential, with the ability to engage positively and professionally with members and co-workers, consistently exceeding expectations.
  • Prior customer service experience is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • An upbeat, positive, and professional attitude is essential.
  • Punctuality and reliability are critical.
  • Certification in CPR/AED must be obtained and maintained within the required timeframe, along with the physical capability to perform these tasks in an emergency.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods; frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
