Job description:

The General Service Technician role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities and is compensated on an hourly basis, reflecting the needs of the business. This position involves executing basic vehicle repair and maintenance tasks in alignment with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The successful candidate will be dedicated to providing outstanding 5-star service, effectively communicating vehicle issues and proposed solutions while meeting guest expectations for timely and quality service.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately perform essential vehicle services and repairs efficiently in accordance with Monro’s operational standards.
  • Conduct tire services including wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation, and TPMS service and repair.
  • Execute various vehicle services such as lubrication, oil changes, and basic maintenance tasks (e.g., bulb, wiper blade, and filter replacements), as well as battery testing and installation.
  • Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection for every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating necessary additional services and repairs.
  • Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
  • Support all general store operations to maintain the store’s excellent condition and cleanliness, in line with Monro’s standards.
  • Consistently adhere to Monro’s safety protocols, including Wheel Torque and oil safety compliance procedures.
  • Test drive vehicles according to Monro’s Road Test policy, utilizing designated routes while observing all local traffic laws.
  • Understand and comply with company policies and procedures, as well as governmental standards, including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA regulations. Ensure the consistent application of all required safety standards established in training and company policies.
  • Maintain technical proficiency by completing all required Monro University training courses and modules promptly.
  • Operate and maintain equipment safely, following Monro and manufacturer guidelines for all machinery including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Required to own a basic set of tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.
