Job description:
The Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurship Program Specialist plays a pivotal role in the development and execution of Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurship initiatives within the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan (GSSEM) communities. Reporting to the Vice President of STEAM, Financial Literacy, & Entrepreneurship, this position is designed to oversee the complete program lifecycle, from conceptualization to implementation, including event logistics management and program evaluation.
The Program Specialist will be responsible for both new and existing initiatives, aligning their work with the department’s annual plan. This role is crucial in addressing the gaps in Financial Literacy and providing girls with resources and opportunities to become leaders in this field. The Specialist will focus on achieving both short-term and long-term goals that align with the strategic vision of the department and the overarching objectives of the Council.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Vice President of STEAM, Financial Literacy, & Entrepreneurship to align budgets, formulate program strategies, meet objectives, and manage partnerships effectively.
- Conduct research and manage all programming, including facilitating selected workshops.
- Act as project manager by tracking tasks, ensuring deadlines are met, liaising with partners and vendors, securing venues, procuring necessary materials, developing evaluation plans for each program, and organizing stakeholder meetings.
- Engage with partners and vendors to deliver impactful Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurship programming across all GSSEM communities.
- Create agendas for both internal and external meetings.
- Prepare sensitive and high-priority correspondence, including emails and documents.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to devise campaign strategies for all Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurship events.
- Serve as the main point of contact for partners and other stakeholders.
- Assist in managing the event plan, timeline, and action items alongside the Project Manager of Programs and Events.
- Monitor the program budget and work with the Fund Development team to secure grants for programs.
- Offer timely feedback on project plans as needed.
- Coordinate all event services, including food and transportation, when necessary.
- Cultivate strong relationships with all partners.
- Prepare and submit reports promptly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years in project/program management.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working directly with vendors, external partners, and/or volunteers.
