Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated Member Services Representative to join our team in a full-time afternoon/evening role. Bilingual candidates fluent in both English and Spanish are highly encouraged to apply. In this position, you will play a crucial role in delivering exemplary customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, thereby ensuring an outstanding "Judgment Free" experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

  • Warmly greet members and guests, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment.
  • Answer incoming calls with a friendly demeanor, assisting callers with a diverse range of inquiries.
  • Check in members, conduct tours for prospective members, facilitate sign-ups, and communicate updates and events to both members and guests.
  • Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Process beverage and merchandise purchases using the point of sale system.
  • Utilize the POS system to support new membership card issuance, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Ensure the front desk area and lobby are consistently clean and organized.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks including mopping spills, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
  • Regularly clean all exercise equipment and tanning beds.
  • Maintain cleanliness and restock supplies in restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Candidates for this position must complete a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire; continued employment will depend on a satisfactory outcome.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a proven ability to interact positively with members and colleagues, exceeding expectations.
  • Prior experience in customer service is preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • An upbeat, positive, and professional attitude is essential.
  • Punctuality and reliability are critical.
  • Obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within the required timeframe, and be capable of performing CPR/AED in case of a medical emergency.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
