Nino Salvaggio is currently seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Bagger for our Troy location.

Responsibilities:

  • Bag and package all customer purchases and merchandise in accordance with Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace bagging guidelines and standards.
  • Assist in promptly cleaning up spills and managing breakages or leaks, adhering to company guidelines to mitigate potential hazards and prevent accidents.
  • Collect shopping carts from the parking lot in various weather conditions and return them to designated areas and pick-up points.
  • Sort and handle return-to-stock items appropriately, ensuring that perishable and refrigerated items are returned efficiently.
  • Manage damaged and/or spoiled products in alignment with company and departmental guidelines, assisting in minimizing levels of damaged goods.
  • Assist customers with inquiries and their orders.
  • Support customers with their purchases, particularly with large or bulk orders, including transporting items to their vehicles and assisting with loading.
  • Perform housekeeping and maintenance duties, including sweeping and mopping, as assigned.
  • Greet all customers with prompt and courteous service.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times, in accordance with company grooming and dress standards.
  • Notify management immediately regarding any safety or equipment concerns or violations.
  • Assist in training new associates as necessary.
  • Offer support to other departments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Must possess reliable transportation.
  • Availability on weekends is required.
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions, including cold, heat, snow, and humidity.
  • Willingness to consistently work outdoors.
  • Capability to stand and/or walk for shifts of 8 or more hours.
  • Ability to regularly bend, lift, and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to safely push and pull multiple shopping carts.
  • Ability to push/pull weights of up to 50 pounds (e.g., shopping carts).
  • Strong multitasking abilities while maintaining a positive attitude.
